The Moorings in Naples Florida is a highly sought-after community located West of US-41. It runs parallel to the beach and Gulf of Mexico. The Moorings is a non-gated community made up of condominiums (high-rise and low-rise) and single-family homes. It was one of the first planned Naples communities built in the 1950′s. Many of the older condos have been renovated and the single-family homes built in the 50′s through the 80′s have been torn down to make way for larger luxury homes. Home prices can vary dramatically in the Moorings depending on waterfront, size and age.
To the South, the Moorings is bordered by Coquina Sands and to the North, Park Shore. West is the Gulf of Mexico and to the East, US-41.
Only high-rise condominiums are available along the beachfront on Gulf Shore Boulevard. Most of the condominium buildings are older but a newer luxury condo tower, Sancerre, was constructed in 2003. All single-family homes are located slightly inland (walking distance to the beach in most cases) on either canals, leading to the Gulf, facing the golf course or on tree-lined streets. Boaters will find access to the Gulf of Mexico through Doctors Pass.
Besides boating, the Moorings does have its own 18 hole, USGA golf course and Clubhouse. Becoming a golf member is not required when purchasing a home or condo in the Moorings.
To go along with the waterfront local, street names in the Moorings have a predominantly nautical theme with some golf course nomenclature thrown in for good measure.
