Douglas started selling real estate in 1995 in Denver, Colorado at RE/MAX Professionals and achieved 100% Club status in 1996 & 1997. In 1998, Douglas purchased two start up franchise offices eventually growing them to 15 agents and closing 100-120 transactions per year. After selling both offices, he was the Managing Broker at The Luxe Group in Denver before going on his own in 2003.
